I've been really busy the past few days that I didn't have time to clean up our humble abode. I know I am also responsible for the upkeep of our house but I am really thankful for my husband that he is taking over the house chores for the meantime.
This year I have given away many stuff that we didn't use anymore. I am trying my best and slowly convincing myself to live a minimalist lifestyle. One common tradition Filipinos follow is cleaning our house thoroughly on or before New Year's Eve. Out with the old and in with the new they say. Most people believe in the idea that cleaning our house before the first day of the new year ensures that we don't carry in our old, or unpleasant memories into the New Year.
Today, I would like to feature a Home cleaning service in Las Pinas, We had their service to clean and disinfect our home. and I found out I've been cleaning home the wrong way all my life. as they also shared some tips on how to do a step by step cleaning at home.
I wasn't aware that my cleaning routine was actually frivolous. I would always start with cleaning the kitchen then the bathroom then the upstairs. 😥 A total fail. Good thing the cleaning guys have shared some cleaning tips to clean our house the easy and proper way.
Mr. Sparkling Cleaning Services said that cleaning room to room , cleaning the first floor then the upstairs is ok but it is very time consuming. They said that there are much better way than that. Let's me share some with you.
- Start at the highest point of the house. Remember this: Top-to-bottom then left-to-right
- Dusting- Use a dry microfiber cloth when dusting. Start at the ceiling then the walls downward. Make sure that you also dust the insides of cupboards and your closet.
- Vacuum/Broom-Whichever you prefer always start with the farthest corner and move backward to the corner.
- Mopping- When you are sure that the area is dust-free then you can damp a cloth and start sweeping off some hard to remove dirt on the wall then Use a mop to clean the floor.
- Furniture Cleaning- If you have wooden furniture slightly damp cloth to clean surface dirt. For fabric sofas you can use a vacuum to remove dirt but for hard to remove stains better call a professional cleaner to handle it.
- Clean Toilet- Dirty toilet contains harmful germs and bacteria so it is important to clean it weekly or daily if you have kids. I actually clean mine first thing in the morning. Mr. Sparkling Cleaning Services advised me that vinegar is a very good cleaning substance and that I can actually remove toilet stain by pouring some vinegar and letting it sit for an hour or much better overnight before giving the toilet bowl a good rub.
